Meet the Careers Team

Mrs B Antell: Head of Personal Development. Department leader for PSHE and careers. Mrs Antell plans the PSHE curriculum, careers lessons and employability skills opportunities. She has responsibility for ensuring Cardinal Newman Catholic High School’s careers provision meets the statutory Gatsby Benchmarks. Her work includes facilitating work experience, careers within the curriculum, college and university visits, links with employers, careers events and enrichment opportunities. Mrs R Finn – Acting Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Personal Development. Mrs Finn works closely with Mrs Antell and the Pastoral team to ensure that all elements of PSHE, careers and Safeguarding are suitable for our setting.

Mrs R Morris runs the Planning4change Careers Consultancy and has over 25 years' experience of working in schools and colleges. Mrs Morris holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance and is well connected in the careers sector.

Mrs Morris comes into school one day per week to deliver impartial and independent 1:1 careers advice and guidance, with Year 10 and 11 as a priority. She also supports Year 9 with option choices, through assembly and lunchtime drop-in sessions and offers the opportunity of 1:1 careers guidance. Mrs Morris helps young people develop career ideas through self-awareness and opportunity awareness and to plan for their next steps after year 11. She helps to organise careers events in school and her expertise is highly valued as we continue to develop our careers education programme.
