Gifted and Talented
G & T Workshops
Over the past few years, we have strengthened links with our feeder primary schools by offering a series
of workshops aimed at different groups of Gifted & Talented pupils. The topics covered include The Circle and
Pythagoras' Theorem. We hope to continue this work in more of our feeder primary schools this year.
Primary Maths Challenge
Last November, several of our feeder primary schools took part in the Primary Maths Challenge.
Pupils completed a multiple choice paper and were awarded certificates after they had been marked. We
hope that the primary schools will take part in the challenge again this year.
Primary Maths G & T Event
This year we hosted our first Primary Maths G & T Event which was open to Key Stage 2 pupils.
Twelve teams of four from seven of our feeder primary schools took part and competed against each other
in a series of tasks. The tasks included a problem solving investigation, a maths roadshow and a maths race.
Certificates and prizes were awarded and we hope to follow this success with another event this year.
