Extra Curricular
We are proud of the wide range of sporting and cultural activities on offer at Cardinal Newman High School.
Students can take advantage of the many lunchtime activities on offer which include language club, IT club, games
club, music practices, drama groups, homework club and several different sporting activities. Many departments offer
extra tuition for students at lunchtime or after school.
Other activities on offer include:

- theatre, museum or art gallery visits

- orienteering
- charity fund raising
- field work visits
- careers visits
In addition to there are several residential opportunities at home and abroad which vary each year
Sport
We offer our students a broad and balanced program in P.E. All students have access to the curriculum and consideration is given to those with special needs. We have a modern,
full sized sports hall with badminton, basketball, volleyball, handball and netball courts, cricket nets, trampoline, multigym and new changing facilities.
Developments outdoors will bring an AstroTurf playing field, football, hockey, rugby, and cricket pitches, tennis courts and facilities for track and field athletics.
The P.E. program includes Rugby League, Soccer, Hockey, Netball, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton, Short Tennis, Cricket, Rounders, Softball, Athletics, Health Related Fitness and Orienteering.
The school takes part successfully in competitive leagues, and cup competitions in many sports.
