Headteacher’s Message
The school year is now well underway and the students arrived back into school with a positive attitude. Our new Year 7 students are already well settled into their new school.
Once again the school is able to celebrate another set of excellent GCSE results with 77% of the students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades and 61% achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Mathematics. These were the school's best ever results and the trend over the past few years shows that the school is going from strength to strength. This is clearly due to the hard work and effort of the students and the dedication of a high quality teaching staff ably supported by an excellent team of support staff. The challenge now for this year is to continue at this high standard and to attempt to exceed it.
On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone for the warmth of welcome as we enter a new era for Cardinal Newman and St Gregory’s Catholic High Schools as partners within the Federation of Catholic Schools. A great deal of partnership working has already begun and whilst it is still early days we are already beginning to see significant benefits in working together for the mutual benefits of both schools’ communities.
Finally, congratulations again to the Year 11 students for their outstanding success.
Mr S Clarke
Executive Headteacher
